This Mortgage Checklist below outlines the kind of information and documentation you’ll likely need when applying for your new mortgage.
Depending on your unique situation, you may be asked for more or less information. Having your financial documentation in order
will help get the Loan Process off to a good start and can help to expedite the loan process.

The following information is usually required during the loan process:

  • Your Social Security Number
  • Current pay stubs
  • Your tax returns for the past two years
  • Bank statements for the past two months
  • Investment account statements for the past two months
  • Life insurance policy
  • Retirement account statements for the past two months
  • Make and model of vehicles you own and their resale value
  • Credit card account information
  • Auto loan account information
  • Personal loan account information
  • Divorce Decree (if applicable)
  • Prior Bankruptcy Documentation (if applicable)

If you currently own Real Estate:

  • Mortgage account recent statement
  • Home insurance policy information
  • Home equity account information (if applicable)
  • Copy of your current note (if you are refinancing)

These items won’t be applicable until you find a property:

  • The Purchase Contract
  • Copy of your canceled Earnest Money Deposit Check
